How to
Enter for the First Time
If you did not attend in the previous year, you will need to
submit your name to be placed on the competitor's list to have
entry pack sent to you. If you DID attend last year, you will
receive this pack automatically. Telephone the NRA at
1-800-NRA-3888 and ask for the "Competitions Division."
Or you can contact them by E-Mail.
They will be able to assist you.
The
Official Program: Entry Information
This is General Entry Information taken from the 1995 edition of
the Official Program of the National Matches. Some of these
conditions may be changed for the subsequent National Matches. It
is at the very least a preview of the current program.
ALL INDIVIDUALS MUST PERSONALLY COMPLETE AND SIGN THEIR OWN ENTRY
CARDS.
Make certain all entries are indicated correctly.
A-1 ENTRIES:
a. ENTRIES LIMITED TO RANGE CAPACITY: Pistol:1152.
b. The receipt, ONLY, of an entry will be acknowledged by
postcard.
A-2 ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS:
Advance entry must be made, on the appropriate entry card, for
any of the National Championship activities. Full entry fees,
except for those organizations which have prior arrangements with
the Statistical Director, must accompany entry cards. All entries
are received on a first come, first serve basis. Fill out the
entry card or cards as indicated. Here are some do's and don'ts,
which may be helpful to you:
a. Do print or type all information.
b. Do use your name and address exactly as shown on your NRA
Classification Card.
c. Do indicate your NRA membership number in the space indicated.
(MUST be included as membership is required for NRA Matches, and
for proper posting of classification scores.) New members who
have not yet received their NRA membership number should write
"New Member" on the card.
d. Do indicate each event you want to enter.
e. Do circle your Regular Awards Category as well as any Special
Awards Categories for which you are eligible.
f. Do complete the Housing Requedt Card, regardless of where you
will be staying.
g. Do indicate your telephone numbers and area code so that we
may call you if necessary.
h. Do indicate your rank (SGT, CPT, etc.) and not your Pay Grade
(service personnel only). Police are also required to give rank
and name of department.
i. Don't use a temporary address on your entry card. ROTC entries
showing a military address will not be accepted.
j. Don't alter an entry card in any way.
k. Don't submit a photocopied entry card.
l. DON'T SEND HOUSING FEES TO CAMP PERRY. ALL HOUSING FEES WILL
BE COLLECTED ON ARRIVAL.
After completing the entry card, be sure to double check, and
sign it.
A-3 COMPETITOR ELIGIBILITY:
The NRA National Championships are open to all individual NRA
Members in good standing and to non-US Citizens who are members
in good standing of their respective National Shooting
Federations. Memberships are available at Camp Perry.
A-4 COMPETITOR CLASSIFICATIONS:
a. TEMPORARY CLASSIFICATIONS, RULE 19.14 WILL NOT BE USED.
b. Assigned Classifications - Rule 19.6, may be used.
c. All competitors who do not hold an NRA Official
Classification, either in Conventional Outdoor Pistol, or an
Assigned Classifcation according to Rule 19.6 will be placed in
the Master Class.
d. Competitors may be required to present an Official
Classification Card at the Entry Ofice before picking up their
Competitor Packet.
A-5 COMPETITOR REGULAR AWARD CATEGORIES:
a. Except as noted in specific match conditions, competitors will
be divided into classes and those classes further divided into
categories as follows:(Special Note: A competitor may enter only
one Regular Award category. This category will be used for all
matches and is seperate from the Special Awards categories used
for aggregates and the National Championship.)
Pistol-
1. Civilian- Competitors as defined by Pistol Rule 2.2.
2. Service- Pistol Rules 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7.
3. Police- Pistol Rule 2.4.
b. Competitors may not change from one Regular Awards category to
another during any one phase of the National Championships.
c. In National Trophy Pistol and Rifle Matches, a Junior is any
person under the age of 18.
d. All Junior or collegiate competitors in the Service must
compete in the Service category and pay the standard service
entry fees. Juniors competing in the Service category will still
be eligible for Special Awards in the aggregates and National
Championships.
e. Special Awards to junior or collegiate competitors are as
stated in this program.
A-6 SPECIAL AWARD CATEGORY ELIGIBILITY:
a. Special Awards are made as specified in match conditions. In
order for a competitor to be included in any Special Awards
category for which they may be eligible, the appropriate Special
Awards category MUST be indicated on the Entry Card. Competitors
may be eligible for more than one Special Awards category. Mark
all Special Awards categories for which you are eligible at the
time of entry. No changes will be accepted once firing begins.
b. Special Awards categories are as follows: Pistol Woman,
Senior, Junior, Intermediate Junior, Sub-Junior, Collegiate,
Police.
c. Collegiate competitors who met all academic requirements of
Rule 2.8 during the 1994-95 academic year and received a
bachelors' degree in the Spring f 1995 are considered to be
collegiate competitors for the 1995 NRA National Rifle and Pistol
Championships.
d. National Trophy Matches Special Awards Categories are
indicated on the individual competitor entry and score cards.
Competitors must complete score card after firing.
e. NRA/USA National Civilian Pistol Team: Eligible competitors
must sign the eligibility statement on their entry card if they
wish to be considered for selection to the National Team.
A-7 ADULT SPONSORS, JUNIOR ENTRIES:
All Juniors 17 years and under must be accompanied by an adult
sponsor.
A-8 SUBSTITUTIONS:
No substitutions will be accepted after the final closing dates.
Substitutions of a new team member for another entered in the
Individual Championships may be made, but a $10.00 cancellation
fee will be charged. A $20.00 post entry fee will be charged for
each substitution made after the applicable closing date. A
"Team" is defined for this purpose as a group of
shooters who are all entered together representing one
organization, such as an Affiliated Club, State Association,
Military Branch, Police Department, etc., and paid for as a
group.
A-9 POST ENTRIES:
Post entries may be accepted after the closing dates for the
phase entered, but nt later than June XX for Pistol, provided
there is space available. Entries RECEIVED AFTER the closing
dates will be charged a $25.00 Post Entry Fee. Squadding of other
competitors WILL NOT be changed to accomodate post entries. All
inquires concerning post entries must be made to the Statistical
Director BY TELEPHONE prior to the time that the competitor
leaves home for Camp Perry.
A-10 CHANGES:
If you have any changes to make in your entry, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL
YOU GET TO CAMP PERRY. Phone the Statistical Director at Camp
Perrry immediately. The Statistical Office number at Camp Perry
is (419)635-4124. Collect calls cannot be accepted. Changes
requested after arrival at Camp Perry will be subject to a $10.00
fee.
A-11 CANCELLATIONS:
In order to be considered for any refund of fees, a written
cancellation is required. Telephone cancellations can start the
process, but MUST be followed by a confirming letter, veryifying
the cancellation. Refunds will not be made until written
cancellation is received. No refunds will be made for those
individuals who do not show up at Camp Perry and make no attempt
to contact the Statistical Office. Mail cancellation letters
to:Statistical Director, P.O. Box 700, Camp Perry, Port Clinton,
OH 43452.
A cancellation fee of $15.00 is assessed against any
cancellation. If a cancellation is received at Camp Perry prior
to June 29 for pistol, a total refund of fees, minus the $15.00
cancellation fee, will be made. No-shows will not be refunded.
