There is often confusion on the restrictions for the .45 caliber "service pistol" as designated in the NRA rules for CMP (or EIC) Matches. The following information answers commonly asked questions relating to hardball guns.

This information was distributed at Camp Perry a couple of years ago. It was prepared by Michael W. Rose of the DCM. Its intent is to clarify AR 920-30, the Army Regulation that applies to Leg matches.

GENERAL RESTRICTIONS:

• Trigger pull must be at least 4 lbs.
• Grips, right and left, must be "mirror image" no thumb rest.
• Pachmayr style wrap around grips are legal as long as they do not have finger grooves.
